If you have already booked or are about to book a travel insurance policy through Staysure you may be worried about how the volcano ash crisis will affect your policy. In order to keep you informed of the situation we have detailed below how we can help, and who you should contact in order to claim costs for cancelled flights. We will keep you up to date with any further developments.



Staysure policies already purchased

 

In normal circumstances when purchasing travel insurance, clients can rest assured that if plans change they have the option of amending their policy dates, upon payment of an extra fee. In order to assist any clients affected by the volcano ash crisis, Staysure will change the dates on your policy to accommodate delayed travel.

 

 

Changing policy dates

 

If you are stranded in resort it is not necessary for you to inform us, your policy will automatically be extended to a maximum of 31 days. However, if you are waiting to travel and would like to change the date please call customer services on 0845 508 9886 and they will be happy to help you.

 

Customers who have booked to travel but have been unable to due to flight cancellations as a result of airspace closure, will not be covered under the “Cancellation, Curtailment and Trip Interruption” section. In addition there will be no cover for lost accommodation, excursions, airport transfers or onward travel. If you are already travelling and are unable to return home due to airspace, will not be covered for this delay, additionally any costs incurred due to extra accommodation will not be covered by the policy. Please note – the cause of this delay is NOT an insured peril – as such there is no cover under the “Delay” section of the policy.
