Local woman wins 5 star holiday

Janis Catlin, from Northampton, has just returned from ‘a holiday of a lifetime’ after winning a competition run by Northampton-based over-50’s insurance provider, Staysure.co.uk.

Mrs Catlin won a nationwide competition to name Staysure.co.uk’s company Queen’s guard mascot – her suggestion of Staysure Stan was selected from several hundred entries.

The company, which is significantly expanding its Northampton operation by recruiting staff for a new call centre at a recruitment open day held in early April, sent Mrs Catlin and her husband on a luxury break to the stunning Red Sea resort of Port Ghalib, Egypt.

Mrs Catlin said: “Winning a prize like this was a dream come true – it’s the sort of thing you hear about but never think will happen to you. It was the holiday of a lifetime!”

Staying at the exclusive 5* Palace Resort, the couple were escorted to and from the airport in a chauffeur-driven limousine before enjoying all that Egypt had to offer. During their trip Mr and Mrs Catlin took snorkelling lessons, cruised down the Nile and visited a traditional Bedouin camp to learn about the culture of Egypt.

Olivia Skeen, marketing manager at Staysure.co.uk added: “Staysure Stan was the perfect name for our Grenadier Guard – it’s warm and friendly and the alliteration means it rolls off the tongue.

“It was great to be able to award the prize to someone so local to our Northampton base as well. Although this was a complete coincidence!”

Staysure.co.uk provides travel, home, motor, holiday home, pre-paid funeral plans and private medical insurance targeted at the over-50s market. The firm is introducing travel and cruise packages, as well as a number of other related products over the coming months – all of which will be sold through the new call centre.

The over 50s insurance provider, has decided on further expansion in Northampton due to the skilled workforce and strength in call centre expertise in the area. Current positions available include call centre staff, team leaders and supervisors, finance and PPC marketing specialists.
