Brits to stay at home this Easter as downturn continues to bite staying at home and spending quality time with the family are top priorities for most Brits this Easter according to research conducted by Staysure.co.uk.
The results from a nationwide poll conducted by the over 50s insurance provider showed that three-fifths of respondents are planning to either stay at home or spend time with their family this Easter. In addition, more than twice as many stated that they plan to go to church rather than jet off on holiday.
Surprisingly only 1% will be indulging in Easter Eggs, leaving the younger generation to pig out on all the chocolate treats.
Olivia Skeen, marketing manager at Staysure.co.uk, commented: “It is clear that the combination of air and rail strikes, the current financial climate and the decrease in the pound has had an effect on the number of people who are planning to travel abroad over the Easter break. The research shows that among the over 50s at least, Easter remains an important time to reconnect with family and celebrate the religious festival.”
