Things to get excited about in 2010

Although it may be more comfortable to resist change preferring things to stay exactly as they are, it would be a real shame if they did as there are so many new ideas, innovations and products introduced every day.

Like any dynamic business, no one can accuse Staysure of standing still, particularly in view of the recently introduced private health, home and car insurance policies plus there are further surprises up our sleeve, more products soon to be launched.

Looking forward it’s easy to see that it’s going to be a great year, the most cursory glance at newspapers and websites reveal a host of new ideas, events and developments due to be launched this year such as new technology, gadgets, travel, new insurance products or maybe even looking at a destination with fresh eyes. Here is a small selection of the good things we can look forward to in 2010.

Google’s smart phone
Like them or loathe them, there is no denying that Google is planning to take over the world! It is reported that in response to the success of Apple’s iPhone, Google is apparently set to launch its own smart phone, which will be sold unlocked, thereby with no allegiance or interference from network providers. Initially it will only be available from Google. According to a senior Google representative, the staff is currently testing the ‘Nexus One’ before it hits the shops early this year.

Make sure your home contents insurance policy is up to date and takes into account any new items received over the Christmas period. Staysure home contents insurance can cover all your little gadgets and gizmos, new and old. Why not get an instant online quote and see how our prices compare!

Bigger and better super cruisers
Whilst flicking through the travel pages it looks like this year is going to be the year of the cruise holiday. Forget the recession – there will be an incredible sixteen new cruise ships launched throughout 2010, however the biggest and the best is reputed to be the ‘Oasis of the Seas’ (Royal Caribbean) which was launched at the end of the last year.

Check out Staysure’s travel insurance which not only covers 220 pre-existing medical conditions for FREE it also includes cruise holiday cover as standard providing great benefits such as; cancellation and missed departure up to £5,000 per person, increased baggage cover up to £2,000, lost passport and money up to £500 each, emergency medical treatment and repatriation up to £10m. Plus we cover up to 50 days consecutive travel (depending on age).

Staysure to launch expat insurance
If you are considering leaving the UK or have already relocated to Spain you will shortly be able to purchase Staysure expat private health, car, home, holiday and funeral insurance products at the same great value for money prices. Staysure expat policy documents are written in English and other benefits include a 24-hour English helpline and a dedicated UK expat staffed call centre based on the Costa del Sol.

2010 general election
We’re all fed up of MPs feathering their nests instead of looking after the public’s interests but don’t worry it’s almost time for a general election. Whether you’re for the government or in favour of the opposition, it’s a well known fact that politicians only listen when their parliamentary seat and perks are on the line. So get to the ballot box and let them know what you think.

World Cup kicks off in South Africa
Unless you have been living on the moon, you are bound to have heard that South Africa will host for this year’s FIFA World Cup; the venues have been announced, teams have been drawn and match tickets have been released. As expected, with all the good publicity, even though it’s just begun, there’s renewed interest in this beautiful country, so often overlooked when planning our holidays. Expect South Africa to be one of the hottest destinations for 2010.

Sky’s new HD film channel
BSkyB once looked at as a brash newcomer in the world of broadcasting is now almost taken for granted as an important part of the UK’s TV packages, recently announced a joint venture with MGM Studios to launch a HD channel in the UK. The channel will feature HD re-mastered MGM favourites and is available now to Sky subscribers as part of the HD / Movies package or for an extra £5.00 per month.
