Brits 'arranging holidays around Olympics'Olympic fever is gripping the UK, and Brits are even arranging their holidays around the Games in order to make sure they don't miss out on all the sporting excitement. While many Brits are planning to jet off during the Olympic Games, around 40 per cent of people are actively juggling their holiday plans to ensure they will be around for the sporting extravaganza. Olympic sponsor British Airways has discovered that one in ten people have even cancelled their holiday so they can enjoy the Games. What's more, a sports-mad ten per cent have put off booking a well-deserved getaway this year in order to get behind the team. It seems that people in Northern Ireland are even more enthusiastic about the long-awaited Games, with a massive 89 per cent claiming they would change their vacation plans in order to watch the events. Luisa Fernandez, sponsorship manager at the airline, said: "It’s such a proud time to be British and we’re hoping to get the nation into the spirit by flying hundreds of ex-pats back to the UK to celebrate the summer of sport."
