According to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), as of 2 October 2017 the following companies ceased trading and entered administration:

  • Monarch Airlines Ltd
  • Monarch Holidays Ltd (ATOL Number 2275)
  • First Aviation Ltd (ATOL Number 4888) previously trading as Monarch Airlines
  • Avro Ltd (ATOL Number 1939)
  • Somewhere2stay Ltd

Unfortunately, this means the future flights and holidays provided by those companies have been cancelled. Please contact your Travel Agent or Tour Operator in the first instance.

Please click here to visit the CAA’s dedicated website for comprehensive information and advice, including (but not limited to) the following topics:

The CAA is also operating a special 24-hour helpline:

Note the CAA’s helpline may have long queuing times due to the large number of people affected. If you do not have an urgent query it may be best to visit the CAA’s website first and call later.

Unfortunately our standard travel insurance policy does not cover this event. If you purchased our Travel Disruption Extension (TDE) Additional Cover Option before 2 October 2017 you may make a claim. If you are unsure about what your policy covers please find your Staysure travel insurance policy number and contact our UK-based Customer Services team:
