Our Christmas hamper giveaway was probably the most popular competition we’ve run this year – as we had over 250 customers enter! All we asked was if you could take your family anywhere in the world for a festive getaway, where would you travel to and why? The response was phenomenal, so a big congratulations to everyone who took the time to enter, we loved reading your replies on our Facebook page!
But as always, there can only be one winner, and that was Gaynor Palmer, who will now get to spoil her family with a Marks & Spencer Christmas Hamper!
Gaynor said: “It is a dream of mine to take all my family away to Lapland and also to see the Northern Lights. With having 3 young children I could only try and imagine the look on their faces! Family is my everything and as long as I am with them, that’s all that matters!”
After we contacted Gaynor to tell her she had won, she added: “Oh my goodness, I don’t know what to say! Thank you so, so much that is such a lovely surprise and has completely made my week after having 3 poorly children to look after!!! What a fantastic way to start the weekend. THANK YOU!!!”
Other customers whose answers caught our attention, included Elaine Starr. She posted: “I would take them to Chamonix because Mont Blanc is so beautiful and the food so wonderful that it is the best place for a white Christmas.”
Anne Cochrane, said: “Mauritius, if they have an M&S on the island!”
Meanwhile, Sue Cleaver explained: “I would love to take my family to Lapland. It would certainly put the Christmas sparkle in our celebrations over Christmas.”
Michele Browne, on the other hand, said: “If I had one wish it would be to bring my whole family together this Christmas. We’re all so far away from each other. We’re not getting any younger either and two of my sisters are in poor health, so where would I take us all if I could? It would have to be Disney Florida just to see the sparkle in their eyes, the smiles and hear their laughter in their chatter. It would be the best Christmas I could ever have.”
Jenny Hubbard, added: “I would take my 3 beautiful children, 26, 24 and 14, to a large, luxury ski chalet in Megeve in the French Alps to ski. We have all been there, but never a together. It’s a magical snowy place to spend Xmas!”
Wendy Still, told Staysure: “To see Santa at Lapland with my beautiful granddaughter. She is only 7 and has been through a major trauma this year but still manages to brighten our days.”
Last but not least, Brian Harrington, said: “Ontario, Canada. Most of my family live there and I don’t get to spend anything like as much time with them as I would like. I haven’t spent Christmas in Canada since I was 2 years old… and I am 63 now!”
Once again thanks to everyone who entered. Don’t forget to keep an eye on our Facebook page for our monthly competitions, as you could be next month’s winner!
