Who can be covered by an annual policy?

For our yearly policies you can add the whole family from newborns upward but when buying as a couple or family, you could find it’s cheaper to buy together.

Families and couples living at the same address often get an automatic discount applied, so it might be better for you to buy your policies together.

If a family member on your policy falls ill, then you’re also more protected if you have to change your plans.

When insured individually, you may not be covered – having the right insurance means that you and your family are covered properly.

Cover for pre-existing medical conditions

You can declare your medical conditions through our medical screening process, which is a set of questions for us to understand how your conditions affect you. It’s important that you declare all pre-existing conditions on your policy.

This may avoid large medical bills if you need treatment in another country. Failure to disclose any pre-existing medical conditions may affect the validity of your policy should you need to claim.

Do I need to declare my medical conditions?

We specialise in covering people with pre-existing medical conditions, with tailored travel insurance to suit their personal and medical needs. Whether you have high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer or anything else, you must declare it.

If you do not declare any pre-existing medical conditions you may have then you may find that your insurance will be invalid if something does happen related to your condition. With 1 in 20 people who purchased an Annual Multi-Trip policy in 2017 claiming on their insurance**, it’s best to make sure you’re covered.

You can add conditions to tailor your policy through our simple online medical screening or contact us.

Do I need annual cover if I have an EHIC?

Having a free European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is useful if you’re travelling around Europe. In fact, it’s a condition of our travel insurance that you take an EHIC with you if you’re travelling to European countries.

If you’ve had to use your EHIC and need to claim, we’ll waive the excess that you’d normally have to pay on medical claims.

Although having an EHIC is a really important thing to have in place before you go on holiday, it’s not a replacement for good holiday insurance.

It won’t be able to cover cancellations, loss of baggage or any other non-medical related claims.

Where can I travel to with an Annual Multi-Trip policy?

When it comes to our Annual Multi-Trip policy, you can choose between four regions to cover different locations you could be going on holiday to in the next year. The only countries or areas we cannot provide cover to visit are where either the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) or the World Health Organisation (WHO) have advised against all or all but essential travel. You should check the FCO advice for your destination, and any WHO updates when going abroad.

Region 1: UK & Europe, excluding Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Malta Morocco, Spain, Turkey and Tunisia

Region 2: Includes all of Europe – including those excluded in region 1

Region 3: Worldwide excluding Bermuda, Canada, the islands of the Caribbean, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Thailand, and the United States of America

Region 4: All countries

With our comprehensive level cover, you have even more choice:

Add an excess waiver: No excess to pay for travel insurance claims on comprehensive policies. T&Cs apply.
Add car hire excess waiver: Covers the cost of the excess in the event you make a claim for your car hire agreement and includes keys, misfueling, roadside and towing and emergency accommodation.
Add gadget cover: covers gadgets while on holiday up to £1000.
Add golf travel insurance: cover for equipment, green fees and hole in ones.
Add cruise travel insurance: cover for cruise related claims such as missed port departures and cabin confinement.
