- The perfect holiday cost: £960 per person
- Perfect flight time: five hours
- Ideal temperature: 26 degrees
British holidaymakers have put a price on perfection, with the ideal holiday coming in at £960 per person. Men are a little more flash than women when it comes to jetting off, with the average man willing to spend £1,046 on a holiday versus a women’s average spend of £895.
Those over 65 years of age however were the biggest spenders of any age group, with the average retiree willing to part with £1,020 for a break in the sun, which is £169 more than those aged between 16 and 29.
According to the results, holidays with a partner proved to be the most popular of all and only 8 per cent of us would be brave enough to travel alone. Furthermore, 48 per cent of Brits believe they have already experienced their dream holiday, most of which took place in the month of August.
Five star hotels were named as one of the key components that make up the perfect holiday, with 43 per cent of travellers refusing to settle for anything less. Those from Brighton however are a little less fussy as, surprisingly, almost a third from this southern city claim glamping is their perfect getaway.
When you’re seeking some winter sun Tel Aviv, on the west coast of Israel seems to have it all. With temperatures in November between 25 to 26 degrees, a short 4 hours 55 minutes flight from London and boasting a plethora of five star hotels falling within price range, it seems that this vibrant city has all the components to make the perfect winter escape.
The Tel Aviv Promenade, which is commonly referred to in Hebrew as the Tayelet, runs along the Mediterranean coastline and provides easy access to the many stunning beaches the city has to offer including Bograshov Beach and Hilton Beach which is a water sports haven for all the family.
This attractive holiday destination has a population of 438,818 making it the country’s second largest city and is also known as the financial centre and technology hub of Israel. Boasting a booming nightlife with a vast array of famous live music venues, underground clubs and a thriving culinary scene with such an endless selection of delicious restaurants, it is painstakingly difficult to choose where to eat.
What’s more, British Citizens do not need a visa to visit Tel Aviv as a tourist. On entry holidaymakers can come and go as they please for a period of up to three months.
