Getting the right cheap travel insurance
Wherever you go on your adventures, it makes sense to have a travel insurance policy, just in case something unexpected happens.
Even if it’s just for the essentials, we think it’s worth doing right.
Even a Basic policy will mean you can cover pre-existing medical conditions. Not all companies do this. With us it’s standard.
Plus it’s flexible. You can tailor your policy to add on any extras, or to increase the level of cover, even after you’ve bought it.
So when you jet off, hit the road or set sail to your next destination, why not get our Basic insurance policy? It only takes a few minutes… and then you’re tip-top to travel.

Why do I need Basic travel insurance?
Did you know, 1 in 20 people have to claim on their travel insurance**? It’s more common than you might think.
Unwanted costs can include bills for medical treatment and hospital stays, or even flying you back home if you become ill. They can also include replacing lost or stolen baggage or passports.
Or you might have to cancel your holiday at the last minute, or cut it short and need new flights home.
Even our cheapest policies will give you a level of cover you can have confidence in. A Basic policy can soften the blow and help get things sorted if something does go wrong for you on your trip.
Our customers seem to think it’s worthwhile. We’ve had over a million of them, and they’ve voted us the UK’s Most Trusted Travel Insurance Provider by Moneywise in 2018.

Our cheapest travel insurance with pre-existing medical conditions
You’ll be happy to hear we consider all medical conditions.
Sadly, there are a few conditions we can’t cover, but you can be assured: we’ll do everything we can to help you find the cheap travel insurance that meets your needs. If you have a pre-existing medical condition, we’ll ask you to complete a medical screen so we can assess how we can cover you on your travels. It’s easy to do and it only takes a few minutes.
What is included in Basic cover?

What types of policy can I choose from?
You have a choice of two main kinds of policy for when you and your family travel:
Single Trip Travel Insurance is ideal if you’re going for a one-off holiday or trip. A weekend break in Rome? A couple of weeks in the Azores? You’ll be covered with a Single Trip policy. You’ll also find it flexible. You can add in as many destinations as you want within the trip, and your cover can last for up to 104 days. Your cover only stops when you’re back from your holiday.
Annual Travel Insurance could be better value if you’re planning on taking more than one holiday within a year. You can travel as often as you like up to a total of 183 days.It can also cover all of your trips in that time.
Annual insurance could save you up to £79*** compared to buying a single policy for each trip you take.
If you want to be away for even longer – that’s no problem at all. Choosing a Long Stay policy means you’ll be covered for up to 550 days if you’re under 65.
Can we buy our cheapest travel insurance together?
Yes you can. Our customers find it can often work out cheaper to buy policies as a couple, rather than individually. So it’s worth considering if two or more of you are going.
And there’s another perk of buying together that you might like to know about: if you buy together, you’ll be covered for costs you incur if another person on your shared policy falls ill.
So for instance, if you have to cut your own holiday short because that person suddenly has to be flown back, you’re covered for that. See our online policy documents for the Basic and Comprehensive levels of cover available.

Can I make changes to my policy even after I’ve bought it?
If your medical circumstances or travel plans change before you go on your trip, it’s really important that you get in touch promptly and tell us.
Whether you have an update on your medical conditions or medication, or you’ve decided to add something extra to your holiday, please do speak to us. We’ll do our best to see if we can increase the coverage where necessary.
If you don’t let us know of changes, then it may mean that we can’t cover you for a claim later on.
Please note: while we can increase your policy coverage, we can’t reduce coverage in return for a partial refund. So do check that you’re happy with the level of cover when you book.
What if I need to make a claim?
If you need to make a claim, you can call the number on your policy and we’ll be right on hand to help..
What if I have to have medical treatment?
If it’s an urgent medical matter you can use our medical emergency line. It works 24 hours a day, so it doesn’t matter where in the world you’re calling from. We can help you find a doctor and we’ll even provide translation if it’s needed.
