Australia severe weather conditions

In light of the severe weather events affecting Australia, Staysure’s insurers ETI have responded as follows: -

The cyclone is classed as a natural disaster and therefore would not be covered for cancellation claims. However if your outward flight is cancelled or delayed insurers have agreed that you are allowed to place your policy on hold, provided that there is no intention of making a claim and the destination is unchanged. If your destination changes or the duration increases then you may be required to pay an additional premium. Please consult your tour operator/booking agent/airline and then inform us of any changes to travel dates.

Any costs relating to the cyclone will not be covered – this includes customers who have not yet left the UK to travel to Australia.

For clients already in Australia, your policy is automatically extended for medical cover until your return. However no claim can be made for accommodation costs unless your original accommodation is destroyed and deemed ‘uninhabitable’, in which case the underwriters must be contacted and the usual claim process followed.

Demonstrations in Tunisia - Updated 14th January 2011

There have been a series of demonstrations across Tunisia which have led to the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) to issue the following advice:

We advise against all but essential travel to Tunisia. There have been demonstrations, some violent, in multiple locations across the country, including (but by no means limited to) Tunis, Sousse, Sfax, Nabul, Hammamet, Douze, Kasserine, Requeb and Thia. The situation is unpredictable and there is the potential for violence to flare up, raising the risk of getting caught up in demonstrations.
