Two Staysure customers will be jetting off to the breathtaking pink city of Jaipur in India for a 7 night holiday, after winning our latest competition.

“We are over the moon.”

Those are the words of Staysure customer Barrie Jacks after he found out he was the lucky winner of a once in a lifetime trip for two to India.

“We didn’t believe we had won the holiday at first when you rang us,” said the 73-year-old from Essex.

“We get so many cold calls we just didn’t believe it. My wife told the girl on the phone ‘well if we have won it, you can stick it in an envelope and send it to us!’

“So I rang Staysure back afterwards and they said ‘yes you really have won’. We were over the moon! We said we were really sorry to the girl who rang us for not believing her, she was brilliant.

“But we are surprised to have won as my wife and I have never won anything and we are in our 70s.”

Now Barry and his 71-year-old wife Wendy are planning to visit India in November as the weather is more bearable at that time of year. During their holiday, the adventurous pair will stay in one of the hotels used in The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Barrie, a former builder, said that they travel a lot and had visited the Indian state of Goa and Sri Lanka before, and can’t wait to go on their trip to Jaipur.

He explained: “We’ve been looking on the Internet for places we want to visit and there’s a fort that we’ll be going to. We normally use the Internet to check somewhere out before we go. But we don’t want to do all the touristy stuff, that’s not for us. We want to meet the locals and try the local food. So we’ll leave our options open and see what happens.”

The grandfather said that they still hadn’t seen The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, but that they had seen the first film, and it was “brilliant”.

“It had top stars and top acting,” he chuckled.

“Bill Nighy is great. But all the actors were great, we liked them all.”

Barrie, who has two children and three grandchildren, joked that his family were annoyed that the holiday was not transferrable.

He added: “We are really, really pleased. Thank you.”
