Travel insurance for cross-channel travel

You could be covered if your train or ferry across the channel is delayed for over 12 hours for the following reasons:

• adverse weather conditions
• failure of air traffic control systems
• mechanical breakdown of aircraft, sea vessel, coach or train
• strike and industrial action

If your travel is delayed by more than 12 hours from your planned departure time, you can also choose to abandon your trip and claim for the cancellation of your holiday.

As well as basic information about yourself and any person you’re adding to your policy, you should have the following information to hand when starting your quote:

• Names of all medical conditions you’ve had in the past two years or currently have. Even if you think it’s only minor. This includes anything that you don’t take medication for.
• Don't forget to tell us if you have ever suffered from any of the following conditions:
  • Aneurysm
  • Blood clots
  • Cardiovascular or circulatory condition, e.g. heart condition
  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Raised cholesterol
  • Stroke
