Our travel insurance is typically suitable for those who wish to insure themselves when travelling, for medical emergencies, delayed departures, missed departures, cancellation & curtailment, delayed possessions, lost or stolen possessions, loss of travel money and travel documents, personal accident, personal liability and legal expenses whilst overseas, or for a combination of the above. You may already possess alternative insurance(s) for some or all of the features and benefits provided by this product. It is your responsibility to investigate this. We have not provided you with any recommendation or advice about whether this product fulfils your specific insurance requirements.
This Travel Insurance operates on the basis that you are healthy, fit to travel and to undertake the trip. The insurance will NOT cover you if you
• are travelling against medical advice; or
• with the intention of obtaining medical treatment or consultation abroad; or
• if you have any undiagnosed symptoms that may require treatment in the future (i.e. symptoms for which you are awaiting investigations/consultations, or awaiting results of investigations, and where the underlying cause has not been established).
Claims relating to Pre-existing Medical Conditions will NOT be covered unless ALL conditions have been declared to us before the commencement of the trip, and accepted by us in writing. We must also be notified of any changes in health or prescribed medication prior to the commencement of any trip.
For the purposes of this insurance a Pre-existing Medical Condition is considered to be: |
To clarify, if any member of your travelling party: -
• Is aware of any UNDIAGNOSED symptoms - Unfortunately this policy cannot be extended to provide cover for Medical Expenses, Cancellation, Curtailment or Trip Interruption for any person with undiagnosed medical symptoms. The Underwriters will be happy to reconsider an extension of your policy upon receipt of a full diagnosis or full clearance from your doctor.
It is important to note that this will also mean that any other insured persons travelling with you under this Policy will NOT be able to claim in the event that they need to cancel or curtail their trip as a result of your symptoms or medical condition(s).
Otherwise, if any member of your travelling party:
• Has suffered from, been prescribed any medication, received any treatment, or attended any consultations, investigations, follow-ups or check-ups, for ANY medical or psychological conditions in the last 2 years
• Has EVER had or received any treatment, investigations or tests for:
• A heart attack, angina, chest pain(s), or any other heart condition
• High blood pressure, blood clots, raised cholesterol, aneurysm, or any circulatory disease
• Any form of stroke, transient ischaemic attack, or brain haemorrhage
Then NO claims relating to these conditions or ANY linked conditions will be covered UNLESS these conditions have been declared to us and accepted by us in writing.
It is important to note that the policy contains conditions and exclusions relating to non-insured travelling companions, close relatives or persons with whom you intend to stay whilst on your trip in the event of any need to cancel or curtail a trip. Please ensure that you read the “Important Limitations – Cancellation, Curtailment & Trip Interruption Cover” section in your policy wording carefully.
